You can use this letter to respond to an employee who has requested discontinuous shared parental leave periods via a booking notice, if you do not agree to the request.
Unlike continuous periods of shared parental leave (which you must agree to if the correct notice is given) you do not have to agree to discontinuous periods of shared parental leave unless it works for your business.
You must respond to your staff member within two weeks of receiving their leave request, and should have discussed the matter with them and tried to come up with an alternative solution before sending this letter.
